Should we include that it was influenced by Hammers version of the charcter too. I don't really think that the marvel Dracula was inspired by Universal at all, only in the sense that all Draculas are somehow influenced by Bela Lugosi's excellent performance, but the style of the marvel drac is in my opinion 100 percent Hammer. Hammer Dracula is the first one we see who dies in all these different way's who fights Van Helsing's descendants in modern day, I might add Van Helsing is just Peter Cushing in that rather than being a wierd old doctor like in the book and universal film the marvel van helsing is a vampire hunter who has dedicated his life to destroying Vampires.
