Redundant References

Reference 2~7 are redundant. Reference 2 and 5 refer to the same web page, same with 3 and 6, and 4 and 7. 207.62.190.33 (talk) 22:06, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merger mistakes

As

CIA activities in Yemen is about to be merged into this page I'd like to point all to my comment. The CIA obviously did more than preparing drone strikes. Let's avoid naivity. 83.85.143.141 (talk) 03:03, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply

Title move

Can we move the article so it can say American drone operations in Yemen? I think thats a more approachable title for the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dg888814 (talkcontribs) 18:46, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of drone strikes in Yemen → United States drone strikes in Yemen – I propose changing the page title to "drone strikes in Yemen", following the example of Drone strikes in Pakistan. I think that's a more approachable and appropriate title for the page. I also suggest that Terrorism in Yemen#US air attacks be merged here. This is clearly an article on US drone operations in Yemen, not a list. 201.42.86.74 (talk) 13:50, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply

  • Move back to Drone strikes in Yemen. That is both most concise and best describes the current contents, although a little reformatting of the article will then be necessary. There's no reason such an article can't contain a short list of US strikes. Andrewa (talk) 15:23, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Considering that the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the Houthis are also carrying out drone attacks in Yemen as per the text of this article, wouldn't it be better if the title was "
Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen due to the ambiguous title. --Fontaine347 (talk) 16:08, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply

That's changing the scope of the article, to restrict it to US activities. It may be that previously its scope was more restricted, and at least one article merged here was purely on US activities. But currently both the title and contents include non-US activitites, and I see no reason to descope it now. Andrewa (talk) 04:14, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"But currently both the title and contents include non-US activitites, and I see no reason to descope it now." This statement does not correspond to reality. The article's scope has always been focused on the US activities in Yemeni territory, all content of this article is focused on the US airstrikes. The proposed change would only correct an ambiguous title.--Fontaine347 (talk) 21:08, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I note that this reverses

Whether or not that rationale was true at the time I don't know. Academic now. No page history that needs to be preserved at Drone strikes in Yemen or its talk page. Andrewa (talk) 15:27, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
