Old Editorial article moved to new title

I've moved the original Editorial article to Opinion piece and created a new article Editorial from some pieces of the old one. For the original talk page of the Editorial article, see Talk:Opinion piece.  --Lambiam 13:02, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editorial tone

My teacher says editorials contain little colloquial language. But can anyone cite that. BTW I think the worldwideview is ok. Kayau Voting IS evil 05:51, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editorial Sample?

Should we add some sample editorials? That way the reader could see a sample of what an editorial really is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gigabyte Giant (talkcontribs) 19:03, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Editorial" is not American English

In the article lead, it says "editorial" is American English -- but I disagree. I think it is a lot more common in the UK than the terms "leading article" or "leader", which I hadn't heard of until now (though I can find examples of them, such as The Economist, which use "leader"). Some examples of newspapers that use "editorial" include The Guardian, The Observer and Reuters.—Profzed! 18:35, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited the article to not describe "editorial" as belonging to any national variety. My edit can be seen here.—Profzed! 18:38, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To add to my point, Cambridge Dictionairy don't consider "editorial" to belong to any national variety either.—Profzed! 22:54, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
