Can we find out the copyright law of Egypt regarding govt works before copying this over?--Birgitte§β ʈ Talk 13:02, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone said here that it "is an official translation by the Egyptian government, whose works are in the public domain". The translation appears to be the same as that on an official government site, and on the same server there is a notice that "[m]ost of the information available on this server is in the public domain and therefore not copyrighted".[1]
I realize that none of that is absolute proof, but in any case the full text doesn't belong here. If it's copyrighted, the text should be removed altogether, and if not it should be transwikied. Wmahan. 15:26, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I just saw that you replied to the first comment I linked, so sorry if that wasn't helpful. Wmahan. 15:30, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reformatting the page

I added new sections and modified more on the content of the page. I aimed at providing an overview, a descriptive summary issues of the present-day constitutio rather than giving the hard original text. I will update the format of this page once again, as soon as I find more material. User:Ahmed MohamedUser Talk:Ahmed Mohamed 5 November 2006

I have done some more reformatting for this page to reflect the recent amendments that were passed last March 2007. I will continue to refine the quality of the written material and provide references as soon as I find more material. User:Ahmed MohamedUser Talk:Ahmed Mohamed 16 April 2007

Not good enough!

This article needs to be dramatically improved. Problems at present include: (1) rules concerning elections not stated, (2) no mention of the Emergency Law (a "trump card" negating much of the constitution), (3) inadequate citations, (4) no reference to the constitution document itself online. I have found a link to the constituton here, but I can't find the amendments. Help! – where are those amendments online? AWhiteC (talk) 16:51, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correction

In my opinion he mentions article 189 not 181 to be amended. Best regards, Oliver 95.223.244.185 (talk) 00:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted. Have fixed AWhiteC (talk) 23:51, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential succession

So the 1971 consitution specified that if the president died, there would be an election to replace him in 60 days ? This article could use some comments by a knowledgable person, as to the accession of Mubarak 8 days after Sadat was assassinated. Did this 1971 consitution define the office of vice-president or provide for vice-presidents to succeed the president ?Eregli bob (talk) 18:20, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
