The number of states parties is inaccurately listed as 66 according to the US Department of State, which lists 68 state parties, including Brunei (1 Jan 1964) and St Kitts/Nevis (19 Sep 1983).

Republic of France.
This article may wish elaborate on France's situation as she seems to be entirely out of this treaty, despite being a major nuclear power and a permanent member of the UN Security Council. Thus their abstention is quite unusual and notable. What were her reasons to stay out, why NATO didn't work as a single bloc regarding ENMOD, etc? 158.88.16.4 (talk) 12:10, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
