I'm confused. In the Hephaestus article it says that Athena disapeared from the bed. In this, it says that is landed on her thigh and she wiped it with some wool. Which is it?--Kookoo275 04:12, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Probably both versions existed. The Greek mythology was not a single consistent entity, and multiple versions often existed of the same story Nik42 07:58, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the contradiction label should be removed. It is redundant to say that a Greek myth contradicts itself. It is so common as to be expected.--M

I agree. My first (or second) AI program was a database of greek mythology, that tried to build a genealogical line. The most common phenomenon, when I put all myths together, is finding people who are descendent from themselves. The best thing is to list all contradictory versions, and let them lie side by side :-) Albmont 03:53, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article claims "Other accounts state that they were killed by the snake" and "An alternative version of the story is that Athena left the box with the daughters of Cecrops while she went to fetch a mountain from Pallene to use in the Acropolis". Both of these claims require sources.
