merge with quantum state

See talk at talk: quantum state.

no do not merge with quantum state Anlace 03:13, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

merge with excitation

yes this merger makes sense. Anlace 03:10, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lifetime

The article states;

The lifetime (see resonance) of a system in an excited state is usually short:

Is the link to the resonance article supposed to explain the meaning of lifetime or that the lifetime is short. As far as I can see it does neither. SpinningSpark 22:07, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plus, the word short has no meaning in this context. Milliseconds, seconds, hours, days? --Bartosik (talk) 18:47, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Importance rating

I added a high-level importance template to this article in the hope that it draws some more attention to it in the wikiproject. This is such a common term, known even to high-school students from their chemistry class. It needs a bit more attention. Joshua Davis (talk) 07:43, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

article has many problems

Needs lots of work: Focuses mainly on the excitation of electrons in the atoms. Does not talk about the many other types of excited states.

"The temperature of a group of particles is indicative of the level of excitation." <--This is not true and should be removed.--Bartosik (talk) 18:58, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
