Hello everyone,

I'm completely new to Wikipedia editing and completing this for a class assignment. Further research into the forms of foreclosure rescue schemes listed on this page led me to confusion about exactly how a buyer could take equity from a property, when the original owner is typically entitled to that equity at the closing of a traditional sale.

I found the answer and lots of supplemental detail to that question, and feel that including it would provide clarity about what makes this scheme possible. Updating information here would also necessitate updating the dedicated Equity Stripping page as well to add these details under the Scam Elements > Acquisitions section.
