Stray unsigned/undated discussion: There is a mistake. William McAlpine was the tenor singer in Psalmus Hungaricus, therefore he is in the wrong box.

I felt an awards column (and perhaps another column linking to a MusicBrainz entry) would be helpful. Many of these recordings are notable in their own right for having won multiple major awards (e.g. multiple Grammies, 3 for one recording.) Were this a pop artist, they would get their own article. (There are classical recordings with their own articles I believe, although I can't see someone creating a stub for yet another Carmen recording, no matter how many awards it has won.)

Some people regard the Grammies as "commercial" awards (as I have gotten at least one revert for mentioning them in justifying notability), perhaps because their focus is mainly on popular and non-classical music, although richly award Solti. (Or perhaps this is just classical music politics; not sure.) This is an article about commercial recordings, so Grammies and other "commercial" awards are appropriate here. However, if you feel that another notable Classical music belongs here (that is less "commercial" or at least more classical focused that Solti's recording won, by all means please add to column.
