Splitting of article into "Glass melting" and "Glass container production"

As expressed in the previous section about colored glass, it might be useful to split this article into "Glass melting" (hot end) and "Glass container production". The article is the only one that discusses glass melting in commercial furnaces in some detail (otherwise, a few sentences are also in the article

There are already three articles on glass production - this one, and the two sub-articles
Glass container production, with an extra article created for Glass melting if it is felt that it is not already dealt with in the existing material, and is notable enough. SilkTork *YES! 01:39, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply

I just made a minor edit on glass production on the german site and was looking if that'd be missing in english too. Not really, everything is missing. The links to main articles are very redundant, concerning only flat glass and bottles. The article "glass" is excessively short in its production section, optical glasses are not really covered. I'd like to contribute but I agree that someone should provide a better structure for the various articles first. --Kawarayaki (talk) 12:43, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't it say anything about raw material conversion into glass?

It should be called glass processing not glass manufacture! It tells me nothing about making glass.95.144.173.179 (talk) 22:44, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Steve[reply]

Definition of Regenerator

The article states: To reduce the emission of NOx in glass manufacture, liquid oxygen is used in furnaces, but the cost to transport and manufacture LOX perhaps outweighs the benefits. The article also indicates that another disadvantage is that regenerators are not used. In this context, what is a regenerator? A definition of regenerators at this point in the article would be helpful. Ahengineer (talk) 06:15, 9 July 2017 (UTC)ahengineer 9/7/17[reply]
