This article needs an introduction, it just dives right into some dense history with nothing to explain the context or the bigger picture. Night Gyr 13:26, 31 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed in the picture found at this address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographic_transition that the demograhpic data for Sweden shows a very high peak in CDR (crude death rate) for years 1772-1774. That made me curious and I was seeking here some kind of explanation. Was there any big war in that period? — Preceding unsigned comment added by -Paul- (talkcontribs) 16:57, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is no context to this article whatsoever. Please, someone add an introduction.194.109.198.99 16:22, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gustav III and IV never ruled as true absolute monarchs because the Riksdag still had the right to impose taxes.

Karl XI and XII were true autocrats. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.66.85.76 (talk) 18:19, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problems

This is basically an undigested repeat of the relevant portion of the article in the 11th edition of the

Encyclopedia Britannica. The viewpoint is clearly anti-parliamentarian, and there are almost no wikilinks and no context. --165.189.32.4 (talk) 13:17, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply

Yes of course it isn't good, but at least it is unbiased and well written.

Unbiased?? Quick quote: "it was only by the despicable expedient of assassination that the last great monarch of Sweden was finally removed, to the infinite detriment of his country" 78.115.136.210 (talk) 11:05, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed with 165 and 78. The article is horribly unencyclopedic, speculative and prob factually incorrect. It is improbable that Gustav III was the first to consider a coupe d'etat, since his parents tried one but failed and lost every scrap of power. Rursus dixit.
