Holiday Song
I removed ", despite the fact that the subject matter of the song is not that of the holidays" given that "Happy New Year" is the title of the song and is mentioned twelve times during the song in every chorus, the video for the song is holiday themed, and the lyrics in general clearly relate directly to that holiday. cswpride (talk) 10:38, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Vietnam
Am I alone in thinking that the "Ministry of Culture and Information, Socialist Republic of Vietnam" is possibly not a reliable source? Longwayround (talk) 10:27, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
1980 release in Portugal
It's wrong to say the English version wasn't released until the 90s. It saw a release in Portugal in 1980... http://www.45cat.com/record/2002069 Vauxhall1964 (talk) 01:25, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

1980?
Abbythecat (talk) 01:20, 2 January 2015 (UTC)I don't know when this song was recorded, but I wonder if 1980 is correct? If you listen to the lyrics, they say "who knows what lies waiting down the line, in another TEN YEARS time, at the end of '89". "Ten years" to 1989 means it was recorded in 1979, right? '79-'89, 10 years. 1980 plus "ten years time" would be 1990. They also sing "it's the end of the decade" -- decade ended in '79, not '80. So maybe this was recorded in '79...?
