Deleted the production section, already enough is known who is going to produce individual songs. Poorly written as well.

reason for censored "hip hop is dead" track?

Why on the original version of this song, the lyrics "extended clip into my AK" and "murder the DJ" get changed to what they are on the album release, specifically "body em all day" and "wreck the DJ"?

If your are going to add information, you MUST cite your source. All these tracks that are suppossedly confirmed have no sources. And now somebody put a November release date? What is your source!?!? Defo, plus 50's come out with a mixtape called Hip-Hop Is Dead, so it may cause confusion. -Mittens

Okay, wait, what? I know this isn't a place for discussion, but it had to be said. What is 50 doing coming out with an album like that. His rapping skills are horrible (listen to "I get Money" if you don't believe me, it's all 10 lines in all and hooks) and he has the audacity to say that hip hop is dead? He's part of the decline

"Hip-Hop Is Dead... The 'N'" as opposed to "Hip-Hop Is Dead"

Due to the lack of action taken on this page, I have changed all incorrect references from "Hip-Hop Is Dead" to "Hip-Hop Is Dead... The 'N'". I shall also add the sources to all confirmed tracks. The page that formerly belonged to this album should, in my opinion, be deleted, changed to details of the 50 Cent mixtape, or kept in reserve for the upcoming single "Hip-Hop Is Dead" (which Nas has confirmed, I will now hunt down the source). If you have a problem with it, don't share it, because it's inevitable it would've had to change anyway.

Album's coming out December 5th, MTV says it in that last article they posted about Nas.

If you're referring to http://xxlmag.com/online/?p=5224, then the only songs I see mentioned there are "Unforgettable" and "Let Me In The Light." Where are the others? And I deleted your Fader "confirmed tracks" because blogs are not acceptable sources for wikipedia, see WP:RS. - L.E.S. produces his collaboration with Jay-Z. No name is given though.

- Let Me In The Light is produced by Kanye West, although it does stress that the author isn't 100% sure of the track's title.

- It confirms that Will.I.Am produces Unforgettable.


This is just for anyone who complains about the lack of references. I know for a fact I've read articles confirming all the tracks that are on the main article, it's just taking some time hunting them down.

Are two completely different tracklists of the same album. I think it's safe to say that no list is really credible at this point, and that the tracklist should be deleted until the album comes out or Nas confirms the entire thing (and even then he's gone back and forth a time or two).

Actually, if you look at the cover credits, they read that Black Republican was produced by L.E.S. and Wyldfyer. Sources are saying that Wyldfyer actually did the beat itself. Album Name

The Name of the album is Hip Hop Is Dead. Not Hip Hop Is Dead? or Hip Hop Is Dead...The N. It is confirmed on Def Jam under Nas's name.

Reason For Name

I can confirm this: Nas said on a Rolling Stones magazine interview that he was inspired for the name by his wife (

Music video for Hip Hop is Dead, connection to the album

I think this CD could tell a plot. At the beggining of the video it says "A new law has been passed today by the US Government. Hip-Hop has been abolished and is no longer to be heard. All claiming the title MC will be arrested, and given the worst penalty under the law..........Hip Hop is Dead" Could that be the basis for all the songs on the CD? Just a thought.
