First 12 Tone Score

Leonard Rosenan's "The Cobweb." That was 1955 and so that would be a better choice for the first 12 film score.

That said, I am surprised that there were no films in the 1930s, particularly in German, that had a non-tonal score.

It certainly is worth looking into. Gingermint (talk) 01:45, 16 October 2011 (UTC) [reply]

Merger proposal

I propose this be merged and redirected to Horror film#Music. At present, this barely stands alone as an article. It has a single, broken link citation that is barely used, and most of it is unsourced. Any content worth keeping (there currently does not seem to be) can be moved to the main article, and should the section expand this can always be split off in future. Thoughts? Not sure yet on the merge. There might be enough to expand on this into it's own thing? As we expand on the horror film article we are finding some subjects are going to be huge. Not sure about this one yet. Andrzejbanas (talk) 10:20, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried to re-write the article with a bit more information. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:01, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fantastic! What a great start. Such an improvement. Do you still think this topic is big enough to be clearly distinguished enough to be a standalone? As far as I can tell Hindi film music is the only other film music genre page. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 01:06, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'm not sure if I can expand it into something more expansive (but there is definitely a lot of journals and other research which goes into detail about the genre and film scores with it. I think it requires more research to see if this is big enough to warrant it's own secton (i.e: like our History of the horror film article). but uhh...give me some time. :) Andrzejbanas (talk) 03:36, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given the improvements since the proposal was made, as admitted by all parties; stale discussion on the current potential for a merge. Klbrain (talk) 23:56, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
