"The work was written in three parts in 1663, 1664 and 1678 although an unauthorised edition came out in 1662." How is that possible? Charmii (talk) 18:29, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"... with illustrations by William Hogarth, one of the foremost artists of the day." Hudibras was a very early project for Hogarth and Ronald Paulson's standard work on Hogarth suggests that they show none of his later artistic skills. I have therefore slightly modified the section.
