Cons?

Has a hush kit any disadvantages? Weight? Higher fuel consumption? Anything else? --79.194.192.184 (talk) 20:20, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Silence

"It should also be made clear that, while reducing noise pollution considerably, no hush kit can silence an aircraft engine."

I removed this sentence from the article. What does it mean? Surely nothing can silence an aircraft engine or an airplane short of flying it inside in a sound-proof building; it flies through the air creating massive air vibrations, for crying out loud. It would be much better to have a comparison between engines without hush kits (including modern ones that don't need them) and engines with hush kits in the article. (It's also unencyclopedic; "it should be made clear" shouldn't appear in Wikipedia outside a quote.)--Prosfilaes (talk) 14:35, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
