Embaba is not the Amharic word for Doum palm. Zembaba is. In the

Tigrigna and Tigre languages on the other hand, Imbaba means flower. If camel traders from the Horn of Africa are indeed the originators of the name Imbaba, they are more likely to have been speaking Tigre rather than Amharic since the Tigre speakers are largely nomadic camel-herders who inhabit the lowlands adjacent to the Nile Valley, while Amharic speakers are largely sedentary farmers in the Ethiopian highlands. --User:zeragito 22:10, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply
