Reference needed

Is there any reference proving, that this one time not the flag of British India existing until 1947 (file:British Raj Red Ensign.svg), but as one exception a flag of the Governor-General of India file:Flag of the Governor-General of India (1885–1947).svg was used as the national flag of the indian team??? The hockey players and other athletes probably were representing the indian peoples as in earlier Olympics, not the Governor-General in particular. ThomasPusch (talk) 16:37, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
