Thanks for your replies. I'm not inker Bob Almond, nor anyone on the Inkwell Awards staff, but it looks like Bob has thanked me on his sites for doing the wiki-page. As a freelance writer, I've exchanged e-mails with Bob Almond regarding professional matters, and he talked to me about inking and how it has trouble getting respect in the industry, pointing out there are many more pencilers on wikipedia thank inkers. I started the Wiki pages for Bob and the Inkwell Awards out of respect for Bob and other great inkers (I'm not an inker either). I e-mailed him to tell him I wrote a Wikipedia page for him. Bob made a big thank you to me on one of his webpages, calling me his "offical chronicler" and he even put me on a list of "contributors." But I'm not hired by him or the Awards. I contributed on my own as a fan. I think I'll leave the profiles alone, and see if others continue to contribute to it.

As for notability, the awards were mentioned by Wizardworld and Sketch magazines, two reputable sources, which is more attention than a fly-by-night fan-invented award would receive.

I appreciate your taking the time and effort to discuss this today, and I'm glad you agree it's time to step back and let other editors, if any, take over contributing. As you mentioned, you're a fan of Bob Almond's efforts and he considers you his "official chronicler," so I can see how it would be difficult for you to remain neutral.

I hope you stick around, learn more of how Wikipedia is edited, with its policies and guidelines, and contribute more dispassionately to articles. The more the merrier; Wikipedia can always use new good, responsible editors. With regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 03:49, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I, Krakoom, am not involved in the Inkwell Awards. I have spoken to Mr. Almond, the founder & director, at a few shows. At Heroes (Charlotte, NC) and Pittsburgh Comicon, I have exchanged polite pleasantries and that sort of thing. I am teaching myself to be an inker, but don't get any help from professional inkers. I was wondering something after reading articles on the Inkwell Awards website. They have a spokesmodel called Ms Inkwell. It was originally a logo that now has actual models portraying her. I thought at first it was only a booth babe. After talking to one on Facebook, it seems the Ms Inkwell also handles auctions, awards ceremonies, and helps gather donations for the Inkwell Awards.

Could I add a page about Ms Inkwell? I'm not sure about the policies regarding that.

It seems like this page is trying to function almost like the organization’s website. The text in the Staff section should be shortened to something like: “Past staff members have included ….” Not sure Wikipedia is the place for the revolving list of staff members—that’s more for the org’s own website to maintain, imo. I agree, I removed it. It's just not notable, half the stuff on this page looks like press releases. Why is there an entire paragraph for a company "spokesmodel"? An unpaid volunteer position, of no notability except on this page. Nothing on this page makes any sense MayCauseDrowsiness (talk) 20:52, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
