Being in Hyderabad and/or California

Without intending to justify any of the rest of the thing currently going on here: we're currently citing [1] for this company being in Hyderabad, but that looks kind of

WP:UGCish to me and if we weren't in the middle of an edit war over removing a bunch of other unflattering information I'd be questioning it. Do we have a better source for that? 3mi1y (talk) 06:09, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply

What about this? It is from 2019, though. Kjalarr (talk) 07:20, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Presumably that's something they posted themselves, at least, but I'm increasingly not convinced.
Their linkedin page claims they're in Ontario. Their website has, in the past, claimed they're in Ontario (not a specific city in Ontario, just Ontario generally), Dubai, Newbury Park, CA, Arcadia and Simi Valley, CA, Irvine, CA, and another address in Irvine, CA. Many of these are residential addresses; the last one is an office building that exists explicitly so that companies without offices can pretend to have offices for public image reasons.
The current source, for whatever reliability it has, lists employees in both Hyderabad (software developers) and the US (editorial staff).
From this, I think what's actually going on is that the owner does in fact live in the US (and used to live in Canada), these are their past home addresses, the business is registered in the US (search for 3853331 at [2]), and they outsource their software development to Hyderabad (and may or may not have a legal entity there). I will hold off reverting the page again until someone else agrees with me, though.
We could have avoided a lot of reverting if the editor from last night just said that and didn't try to wrap it up in a bunch of more questionable edits.
The IP editor from last night geolocates to Bangalore, which is in the same country as Hyderabad but nowhere near it. I don't know if that's relevant. 3mi1y (talk) 19:50, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also should probably ping LilianaUwU, since she was the last one to revert it. 3mi1y (talk) 07:27, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, I reverted an editor claiming to represent the company who threatened legal action over the claim that the company was based in India... and the IP they used after being blocked tracked to New Delhi. LilianaUwU (talk / contribs) 07:30, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Surely you misread, and it's New Delhi, Illinois. :)
Is this a vote for leaving it, then? I am still not 100% convinced either way, honestly, but on Wikipedia that means we should probably say nothing. 3mi1y (talk) 07:39, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but a weak vote. It could go either way. LilianaUwU (talk / contribs) 07:41, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the wording to "also has employees in Hyderabad", since we do know that for sure. If people read more into that statement, so be it. 3mi1y (talk) 07:46, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In the light of what you say, I'd agree that the claim "but is actually based in Hyderabad, India" is not supported by the evidence, and should be removed, or changed.--Kjalarr (talk) 07:33, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
