<!-- In the center 17. Century for attachment-technical reasons the city Kalmar was shifted on the island Kvarnholmen. The city was put on right-angled sketch, whose center after a regular, (head)Platz with the newly built cathedral formed. The cathedral as main church of the lutherischen pin (here equivalent to diocese and/or Superintendentur) Kalmar was conceived after plans of the prominent architect of this time, Nicodemus Tessin D Ae.. It is a zentralbau in cross form with Apsiden in the east and the west as well as four towers in the internal corners of the cross. Thus this building of baroque is a successful synthesis from jesuitisch coined/shaped and Protestant ideas of the building of churches. Contrary to numerous other baroque churches the Kalmarer cathedral does not have a dome. Relevant change plans in 19. Century were not carried out fortunately.
