Settlement data in History is disputable

"The city was founded in 1837 when the Voortrekkers settled on the banks of the Schoonspruit ("Clear stream"), which flows through the town. Klerksdorp is the oldest European (white) settlement of the then Transvaal."

This fact is disputable and should be revised. There are sources that claim Potchefstroom to be the oldest European (white) settlement of the then Transvaal.

I have changed the uncited wording to read "one of the oldest settlements..." If anyone can provide a citation for the original claim, it can always be returned to the article. Skinsmoke (talk) 02:06, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
