Kind of offending

I think that this article is kind of offending towards people from Lansdale, or makes fun of them. "Many people from Lansdale think their Kugel Ball is a one of a kind and rather amazing installation. In reality, their are many all over the world."

I'd like to change this quote to something a little less offensive maybe? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.240.35.160 (talk) 17:35, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

school rv

Why was the school district info removed? Passdoubt | Talk 04:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tell me more

  • The article is good quality, but limited in other info. to describe Lansdale. What about the Merck Labs? the Winged Foot golf club? and real estate values skyrocketed in recent years? It's a middle-class town, but 30 miles from the city (Philadelphia) and many newcomers are of various races or cultures (i.e. over 10% black, another 10% Asian and nearly 10% Latino), and a few miles from a heavily Amish corner. Tell me more on the town and get the sources please. 209.247.21.247 14:05, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What year

maybe put in something about what year it originated from — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.197.71.42 (talk) 16:40, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Hell Tree

I have to question the inclusion of the "H tree" legend. I've lived in the Lansdale are for many years, and had never heard of this. I was intrigued, and did some Googling, and it looks like this stems from a post by "Jeff" on a web page at www.hauntedusa.org/htree.htm

The cited source, the book Weird Pennsylvania, is available online in Google Books, and the source for the story is... Jeff from Lansdale. If Weird Pennsylvania gets its source material from semi-anonymous web posts, then it doesn't seem like it should be a reliable Wikipedia source. Mad Thinker 10:40, 18 September 2009

It's been over a year, and nobody has commented on the above, so I've decided to "be bold" and remove the hell tree entry. If it's to be restored (and I hope it won't) it should probably be more appropriate to put it under "culture" than "history". Mad Thinker (talk) 15:28, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The H Tree most certainly existed though it was located in Worcester Township, not in Lansdale. The tree was located just off Hollow Road between Heebner and Fawn. It was cut down in approx 1995 when new homes were constructed. As a kid growing up in the area we all heard the urban legend of this tree and rode our bikes there many times. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.101.106.174 (talk) 02:35, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removed sentences

I removed the sentences about the homeless man in the notable people section for two reasons. One, there was no citation. Two, it sounds like someone is trying to make "occupy lansdale" appear less credible by crediting its creation to a mentally ill person.

Notable?

Why is a drag performer that was mentioned in one school board meeting considered notable, but someone going on an 18 month rampage and damaging 400 people's homes is not? WingsOfBone (talk) 01:44, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
