Beatbox ft. Rael - Let The Music Play... pretty known and one of my favorite beat mixes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Em27 (talkcontribs) 06:41, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also covered by British punk band Snuff on the mini album Greasy Hair Makes Money — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.54.67.249 (talk) 21:51, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Similarities

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else hear hints of Madonna's "Into the Groove" in this song? Specifically, the beat, and the 5 notes that get repeated throughout the song(right before Madonna says "I'm waiting")? 202.156.14.103 (talk) 16:06, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This song was first, so it should be said the other way around.—Iknow23 (talk) 01:02, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

P.O.V.

Maybe this article could be re-written by someone who's not totally in love with Shannon. Just a suggestion. 84.198.246.199 (talk) 02:12, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Additional background information

In a 2008 interview in Webster Hall, NYC with whom I believe is Rap Entertainment, Shannon talks more about the history of the song, specifically that the lyrics may have been written by a Ms Anne Godwin as a rap song, and Barbosa introduced it to her after her death.

Is there any further verification for this? 108.6.212.22 (talk) 06:37, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is further verification for this in the following interview transcript http://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2015/09/key-tracks-shannon-let-the-music-play

And the issue of Billboard Jan 26, 1985, 'New on the Charts' section, by Nolan Thomas
