Managers?

Come on now. "Managers determine the starting rotation"? That's really stretching it. Starters start, it's not like it was some big decision for Torre, for example, to keep Cone and Wells on their schedules. He had nothing to do with those perfect games. --Muboshgu (talk) 22:19, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pitchers with 2 in a "season"

Should Halladay count as having 2 no-nos in a season? As an example, Roger Maris hit 61 home runs in the regular season and another in the postseason. His single-season home run record was 61, not 62. The postseason is generally treated as separate. Staxringold talkcontribs 15:30, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would think you're right. Do sources seem to treat Halladay as having two in a "season" though? – Muboshgu (talk) 17:29, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Baserunners in no-hitters

Of course this is significant. It goes to show close each game was to being a perfect game. Also, every other team's article has this. Are you sure you're not just taking the opinions of one user at a review and treating them like Gospel? It's very worthwhile to have, and no more "trivia" than ANYTHING on this article. 173.160.130.14 (talk) 04:22, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First off,
that other stuff exists is not a valid argument. Those pages could well be wrong. As to whether or not it's important, we'd really need to see something in outside sources that suggests it is. – Muboshgu (talk) 11:41, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply

Removal without explanation

I added unique, on-topic information, with citation, that was removed with the comment "stop adding trivia". I felt my addition was in accordance with the rest of the article, so I tried again, as this entire piece is stats and trivia, but it was removed as "disruptive", carrying a threat of banning. Editor talk appears to be the only person with a stance on this, but it appears to be an exertion of personal control and a matter of personal opinion.

On Tuesday, July 18, 1995, the Yankees hosted the Chicago White Sox for a double header. The White Sox starters were Jim Abbott and Dave Righetti, the last two players to have thrown no-hitters for the Yankees and both earned wins for the visitors.[1]
