Factual accuracy

Many of the players listed here did not take a wicket with their first ball in international cricket. They may have done so with their first ball in Tests, or in ODIs, or in Twenty20 Internationals, but not in overall international cricket, which is what the article's title and first sentence state. The first sentence of the article is

original research, and simply isn't correct. IgnorantArmies (talk) 16:03, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply

Which players included in this list didn't take a wicket in either a Test, an ODI or a T20I? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:39, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What I believe IgnorantArmies means is that some players have taken a wicket with their first ball in a particular format, but have previously bowled in a different format. The title implies it means the first ball in any format, and the first sentence is ambiguous on this point. —Raven42 (talk) 08:49, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, we're already working on how to resolve that, thanks. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:01, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Who did it first?

Currently the lead says Coningham came first, using this as a source. A Google reveals The Wisden Guide to International Cricket 2014 clearly states Coningham came second after Horan. I tend to prefer Wisden in these circumstances but as we have contrary sources, we may need a footnote? Either way Coningham's lead mention should say the wicket was taken in 1894, not 1895, should it remain... The Rambling Man (talk) 13:40, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mint source

This is interesting reading and we could nicely expand a few bits and pieces perhaps... The Rambling Man (talk) 13:45, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorting

I've fixed all the sorts for the bowler and the victim, but I can't figure out how to sort Inzamam-ul-Haq (correctly) in the ODI list! Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 07:28, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I'm concerned, he should sort as an I, so I've adjusted the sortname template accordingly. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:51, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - I was making it too complicated with what I was doing! Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 08:29, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Missing T20I entry?

The full cricinfo list also includes Agarkar dismissing Gibbs in 2006/07 - has this been omitted accidentally or is there another explanation? (If added, the "thirteen" in the lead needs to be increased to "fourteen".) Pinging

How odd. Does look like an omission. I will fix. The Rambling Man (talk) 13:11, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Marvellous. It may have been added to the cricinfo list after this was featured, of course, as more records were checked.

Quite possibly, considering both Lugnuts and I worked on this, it would have been unlikely we'd both have missed it. Anywho, it's there now, thanks for the spot and the ping, and for updating it with the latest effort. The Rambling Man (talk) 13:18, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Keith Miller 1946

The CricInfo list of Test occurrences, has Keith Miller on it from 1946. I've added it, but it seems curious that it wasn't on there. It was th second innings of the match - one that got a one sentence write up in Wisden - so it's possible that it was just left off of lists for a long time and then discovered. It's on CricketArchive's list as well. I've also corrected the URL from that section and moved it outside the table - I'll do the same with the other sections now as well. Following this up, there were odd T20I matches to add as well. The wayback machine found old versions that didn't have Miller on, so I imagine it's a case of records being found, probably relating to not having bowled in the first innings in the case of Miller.
