I think we should get rid of these entries. Every fledging new country has its own dreams of a expansive diplomatic network, but one has to wonder how many will end up being opened given Kosovo's parlous financial state. I am not even sure if Kosovo has actually taken any serious steps towards opening these missions.

Well the sources list specific countries which Kosovo intends to open embassies in. Just the other day Kosovo confirmed its intention of opening an embassy in Bulgaria [1] IJA (talk) 21:49, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, why is it mentioned that Kosovo will open an embassy in Amsterdam rather than in The Hague? Almost all embassies are located there rather than in Amsterdam. Aquintero (talk) 10:32, 09 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The ambassador presented his credentials [2]. Wouldn't that mean the embassy is functional now?

An Ambassador can present his/her credentials and be accreditted to a country which does not have a diplomatic mission in that country. For example, the American ambassador to Tonga resides in Fiji.

And while I am here could we please not list planned missions. 2009 is almost over and there is no sign that Kosovo will be opening any more missions this year. Just because a country plans to do something doesn't mean it will carry it out. Kransky (talk) 02:15, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know, but we happen to know that Kosovo plans to open an embassy in the Netherlands, so an ambassador being present would seem to indicate that the plan has become a reality. The surrounding countries each have their own resident ambassador already. -

The Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is listing the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Ljubljana as being operational, albeit in temporary quarters, with an ambassador at its head [5] -

The KS ambassador to Croatia presented his credentials today. Would it not be reasonable to assume that this means the embassy in Zagreb is now operational? [6] -

Sami Ukelli has been appointed ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Japan. [7] -

The Ambassador of Kosovo to Sweden, Lulzim Peci, presented his credentials to the King of Sweden today [8]. Can we presume the Kosovo Embassy in Sweden is now operational? -

No we cannot. Nor for Japan and Slovenia. These countries do not have Kosovo missions, according to the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs website [9]. As I stated above, the presentation of credentials by a non-resident ambassador does not constitute the opening of a diplomatic mission.

It may be some time before Kosovo opens any more missions if you look at the Kosovo article in the latest Monocle magazine (there is an idea to colocate missions within the Albanians) Kransky (talk) 12:55, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Swedish MFA's Diplomatic List there is a Kosovo embassy located at Ulriksborgsgatan 3 in Stockholm. The resident ambassador presented his credentials 4 February 2010. Pres. Sejdiu said today in an interview that Kosovo has opened 21 embassies. We have 16 listed. Would anybody happen to know any more about this? Whether we're missing 5 or if he's counting missions that are in the process of opening, such as Embassy Tokyo, or he's just saying things, as politicians are liable to do. -

The Kosovo MFA page shows embassies in Macedonia, the Czech Republic and Japan as operational [11]. =

User:Rokoov has deleted the Egypt liason office from the list on the grounds that it is not an embassy. I would grant that, but keep it on the grounds that it is still a diplomatic mission and also useful to have here. Thoughts? Furius (talk) 08:42, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The liaison office should be mentioned in the article. It is a diplomatic mission and it conforms with our other articles that have liaison offices, for example: the United States, United Kingdom and Egypt all have liaison offices in Iran and are so mentioned in their articles.
