What is the point of having the separate section for horror shows when those are mixed in with the real fantasy anyway?

This whole thing needs some sort of organisation by sub-genre. I recommend:

• Animated. Animated shows should be listed in isolation regardless of the sub-genre.

• Standard fantasy setting (whether a version of Earth or not). Stories set in a detailed and different fantasy world or land. E.g. Game of Thrones (full fantasy world), The Shannara Chronicles (fantasy world derived from post-apocalyptic Earth). Film examples include Lord of the Rings, The Princess Bride (fantasy kingdom, not whole world) and The Golden Compass (film only: the books, by book two, fit the next category).

• world-hopping. Stories that use one or more full fantasy worlds, as above, but not exclusively, which return to "normal earth". I don't know of any TV shows like this but the stories abound. The Chronicles of Narnia, The Subtle Knife, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Piers Anthony's Mode series, etc. Someone from Earth goes to a fantasy world and (maybe) returns. (Ok I thought of a TV example: BBCs Atlantis)

• Stories set in a generally non-fantastic version of earth's past, but that are fantasy stories. Carnivale or Merlin, for instance. Film examples include Ladyhawke and most Arthurian stories.

• Urban Fantasy: Fantasy stories set in the modern (or near-modern) world. The Dresden Files, for instance. These may be hard to sort out from horror.

• Fantastic Horror. These are usually distinguishable from Urban Fantasy by the general theme of the story being geared more towards frightening the viewer, but some will undoubtedly be argued. Hello, I'm working with OCLC, and we are algorithmically generating data about different Genres, like notable Authors, Book, Movies, Subjects, Characters and Places.
