Longest/shortest NH

Given below is the text appearing about the longest / shortest National Highway.

"The longest National Highway is the NH 7 which is from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Kanyakumari at the southern most point of the Indian mainland, in Tamil Nadu covering a distance of 2,369 km (1,472 mi), and passing through the metros like Jabalpur, Nagpur, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The shortest National Highway is the NH 47A (4,168 km (2,590 mi)), which is a stretch to the Ernakulam - Kochi Port."

It seems that a correction is needed in the shortest National Highway NH47A. While it may be true that Ernkulam - Cochin Port could be the shortest, the distance should be less than 20-30kms only and not 4168km.

Kindly check with relevant sources. Thanks Narayanan [email protected] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.178.157.236 (talk) 00:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Highway Numbers have been changed

Please look up this page in Indian Express, where it says that highway numbers have been changed, and the longest highway is no longer NH 7 But NH 44. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.122.14.130 (talk) 11:37, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing it up, we were discussing about the same here and no consensus. Also most editors are semi-retired now, So if you plan to take up, please do keeping us informed about the plan. Srikanth (Logic) 12:22, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've created an XLS about this. Will try and have it up someday soon, if not will ask someone else. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:01, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the ministry has decided to stick to the old numbers for now. Renumbering NH projects on sleep mode RajivBandi (talk) 20:10, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gujrat

The spelling of National Highway of Gujarat is not correct as per my knowledge. Instead of Gujarat it is written as Gujrat. Please let me know if I am authorised to edit it or the concerned person can do as well. Ambika bhatnagar (talk) 07:36, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
