There seem to be a number of subjects that are less adaptations then pastiches. Some that are referential but not adaptations. I think that we need to define this a little more. Examples Secret wars is not an adaptation (I don’t recall Superman in the original). Indeed it seems that only the appearance of Tripods (and the fact the invaders are Martian) appear to be related to Wells’s novel. As such this may be considered to reference the novel but is not an adaptation. I would also argue that The Second War of the Worlds & Killraven Warrior of the Worlds are not sequels as they are set in alternative realities to the one i9n Well’s novel.Slatersteven (talk) 15:18, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There might be some justification in adding some of the reactions and panic that was created from Orson Well's radio broadcast of War of the Worlds. Very interesting and relevant material. Voice99 (talk) 19:18, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

• That's more appropriate to the article on the broadcast. This is just about listing adaptations of the novel. However listings of productions based upon the hysteria are justified. I have a recollection of an older war of the worlds film, shot in black and white that was more faithful to the novel compared to the floaty UFOs of this movie.. am i misremembering it? 60.242.175.237 (talk) 07:31, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Should we consider adding the 1958 Portuguese partial broadcast of The War of the Worlds onto these? I myself own at least two boardgame versions of "War of the Worlds" The first being "All Quiet on the Martian Front" which is a H0 scale minatures wargame of uncertian ownership of this time, and "War of the Worlds: The New Wave" which is a boardgame version by Gray Fox Games. 97.88.85.53 (talk) 19:49, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
