Why does this not redirect to Luther?

Why is this not a redirect to Martin Luther plus a disambiguation page? Luther is routinely referred to as just "Luther," and is the most important person on this list by a factor of a couple billion -- note how all four Luther films and the Luther League refer to him! I'm going to Be Bold (especially since I'm a Catholic, though also an early modernist -- by hobby rather than professionally -- and so there's little conflict of interest here), and give Luther his redirect; if this is a problem for anyone, please bring it up here, as I'll watch this space. Also note that all of the places listed here are named for Luther by way of the Lutheran Church -- and while there isn't any direct statement that Luther Vandross (for whom the Luther Burger is named) is named for Martin Luther, I would be surprised if he wasn't, at least indirectly. Because we're not all Catholics, let alone Christians. Stop using a public website to push your private religious views. Redirecting to the disambiguation page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.112.110 (talk) 06:03, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neither are we all atheists, and neither makes any difference in determining the primary topic for a name. If you would like to move the disambiguation page to the base name (because you believe there is no primary topic), please see

You win, pedo-lover. Enjoy your boy-raping religion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.112.110 (talk) 23:54, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I changed the redirect back to the disambiguation page because I was having trouble finding the TV series in the search box. There are too many uses of Luther for this to be a redirect simply to Martin. Aristophanes68 (talk) 23:06, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why is the TALK PAGE for the DAB article redirecting here??? I changed it so that it now redirects to
Talk:Luther (disambiguation), but I assume it should really stay at Talk:Luther, although when I tried to post a discussion there, I couldn't get my comments to show up on the page. Aristophanes68 (talk) 23:31, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply

I'm surprised someone has to point this out to you retards. But if the name Luther comes from Germanic words for leader of people, or people army, then it CANNOT ALSO come from the Greek word for freedom. It's one or the other... Surprisingly dumb people in the world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.173.100.24 (talk) 01:37, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

liut and heri

To add to this article: which language the word liut and heri are from. Old High German? If so, why not add this basic information to the article (so it can be more properly encyclopedic)? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 19:59, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
