What the hell does the picture have to do with Maker Faire, other than being a woman dressed in stupid clothes who just happened to be *at* Maker Faire? An affectation combined with ignorance of spelling / poor education. Indeed it would be useful to have a source on this. Initially I thought it was an hendiadys from French ("maker make"). The "obsolete feeling" has no source on Wiktionary either. --Nemo 11:21, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Probably. There was once an interesting article on the resurgence of electronics as a hobby in the 2000s, but it was of course deleted. 8-( It's not just Maker Faire, it's

Hackspaces and Dorkbot meetings too. The Arduino has achieved a market growth that no similar device has ever achieved, or has even come close for 20-30 years. As it's cheap and easily programmed, it's also getting into schools and the hands of artists, rather than geeks, in a way that PICs or other microcontrollers hadn't managed.
