Stability Issues

Does the Malbec wine from Argentina has stability issues? Or is it primarily a problem in the transport? This should be addressed. --SaturdayNightSpecial (talk) 02:04, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard of Malbec having any type of unique problem apart from just typical bad winemaking that affects every grape variety equally. None of the
reliable sources that I consulted in writing this article mentioned anything at all about instability. But if you come across a reliable source that does then, yes, by all means it should be addressed in the article. AgneCheese/Wine 04:59, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply

Agree with Agne, wines from a specific country could in principle have stability issues due to winemaking practices, or that country's wines (or an unlucky lot of them) could have them in a specific importing country if the shipping is not handled competently. But stability issues related to a specific variety (and one that doesn't exactly give "fragile" wines at that) sounds strange. Tomas e (talk) 14:08, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blog link removed

According to the Manual of Style blogs are to be avoided in the external links section unless "mandated by the article itself." The blog entry is interesting, however not appropriate for Wikipedia. --- The Bethling(Talk) 06:35, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cahor promotional text

I reverted the recent edit with promotional text about the Cahor region. While the article certainly needs to be updated with more info about the wines of the Cahor it needs to be done in a less

reliable references. Unsourced claims that the grape has Romans origins do not pass the sniff text when reliable sources like Jancis Robinson's Wine Grapes notes that the grape was first mentioned in 1761 and DNA evidence has shown it is the natural offspring of Prunelard and Magdeleine noire des Charentes
(mother grape of Merlot).
Additions of neutral, reliable sourced text about Cahors or other improvements to this article is welcome but the text that was reverted would need some serious revision and editing before it should be put back.

Usage of Malbec grapes photo

Note: the picture is being used on a commercial website for selling wines:
