Contested deletion
Someone moved a perfectly viable stub article into a draft. I submit that it should be restored, rather than deleted. --MoxiePH (talk) 16:48, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- Missing some vital info. It is just too short to be a stub, will be re-added when it is better. MoonlightVector 16:49, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- Just to be clear, this article isn't without content. The content was moved to ]
- I am not saying the article is perfect, I'm saying I don't know what you want me to add to bring it up to your seemingly arbitrary standard of length for a stub. It provides the basics, and ample sources. Isn't the point of a stub that it's a work in progress one can invite others to join in? What else do you want? A list of published books? (That'd take some work, maybe a day or two to be definitive) ? A birth date (not gonna happen, for a living journalist who makes a living questioning the government and probably doesn't wanna publicise that information) ? What, the person's high school maybe? - MoxiePH (talk) 17:05, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- Also, you tell me to ask for a review, but you don't tell me WHERE. Shall I call for Santa Claus maybe? I'm sorry but the lack of guidance given something as serious as a deletion is just... mean. Not the deletion per se, perhaps. But certainly the lack of guidance.- MoxiePH (talk) 17:09, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
To quote Wikipedia:Article development: "If you do not have the time to write a full article, consider writing a "stub". Stubs are very short articles—generally just a few sentences. These are the "ugly ducklings" of Wikipedia. With effort, they can mature into "swans"." (Boldfaced emphasis mine). I still think the original did not deserved to be draft-ed, nor the article deleted. I was aiming for breadth, not depth of coverage, and now I don't have spare time from work to create any other journalists.- MoxiePH (talk) 19:04, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Books
Speaking of books, is WorldCat an acceptable reference? Or do I have to look for references for each individual book? It lists
- Journalist in her country : articles, essays & photographs, 1980-1992 by Ma. Ceres P Doyo;
- Press freedom under siege : reportage that challenged the Marcos dictatorship;
- Macli-ing Dulag : Kalinga chief, defender of the Cordillera by Ma. Ceres P Doyo;
- You can't interview God : church women and men in the news : selected articles from the Philippine Daily Inquirer by Ma. Ceres P Doyo;
- Bituin and the big flood by Ma. Ceres P Doyo;
- Human face : a journalist's encounters and awakenings by Ma. Ceres P Doyo; and
- The sisters have come a long way : a look at the lives of women religious in the Philippines by Ma. Ceres P Doyo
I still think this is something the broader community of Filipino editors should have the chance to add. - MoxiePH (talk) 17:41, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
