Question

I noticed where an editor made improvements on the article "Mawza exile," but also wrote that he had "Preemptively archived with the Internet Archive and linked to page number." What does this refer to?-Davidbena (talk) 23:47, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What preemptive archival with the Internet Archive did was change the link from http://www.ybz.org.il/_Uploads/dbsArticles/sefunotII_OCR.pdf to https://web.archive.org/web/20141022152755/http://www.ybz.org.il/_Uploads/dbsArticles/sefunotII_OCR.pdf. This is the same thing, but at a link preserved by https://archive.org/web/. This prevents link rot in which the original link is deleted, moved, or the website goes down etc. - So if and when that happens the Wikipedia link will still work as intended.
Linked to page number = Adding "#page=270" (or a different number) to the end of the URL linking to a PDF. What this means is that if this PDF is loaded in an internet browser, the computer "should" automatically turn to this page of the PDF numbering when the PDF finishes loading. This is intended to make things easier for the reader. Contributor613 (talk) 23:50, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation!Davidbena (talk) 17:51, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @

WP:WIKIVOICE instead of first-hand accounts. The article also does not need the full text of the poems and testimony, and instead their relationship to the topic should be highlighted. Once these are complete, please feel free to renominate the article. Z1720 (talk) 22:02, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply
