Plan

Since this has now become more than just a list, is the plan to expand the individual sections as summaries of the relevant articles?--SabreBD (talk) 14:04, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. I don't think we need summaries, but there are structural problems. I recall starting this article for a dual purpose: first of all, to provide a navigational index of wikipedia articles which cover some subspecies of 'medieval topic/person/event X in popular culture' or more broadly, 'modern culture' (in which case it would have to be renamed again); and second, to use such an overview to see whether those awfully trivial 'in popular culture' lists at the end of many articles couldn't be accommodated in a more productive way elsewhere. The last point is however something that still needs to be worked out in a way that's still compatible with having an index article (rather than a content article), but admittedly I lost interest. One problem is that many such lists do not have an appropriate article associated with them and so, for instance, the list of references to the Hashashin in popular culture is currently held up here rather than moved to some place elsewhere. Lists within lists are contrary to the purposes of an index article I think. In any event, I wouldn't be in favour of replacing the current article with a new content article on the way the Middle Ages are portrayed in popular culture, although the one could probably exist alongside the other. Ok thats clear. Perhaps we will feel the need for a content article (but there will have to be careful thought about titles here), sometime in the future.--SabreBD (talk) 10:27, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move

I think this article should be renamed something like List of Medieval topics in popular culture. The current title should be used for a new prose article. π•±π–Žπ–ˆπ–†π–Žπ–† (talk) 19:49, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
