Around the end of January 1992, the Soviet Ministry of Defence began to actually call itself the Main Command of the Armed Forces of the CIS.^[1]. However, only 20 March 1992 by the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, на базе Министерства обороны Союза ССР было официально создано Главное командование Объединённых Вооружённых Сил СНГ^[2][3].
