In regards to my edits, I feel that my note on Ted's parent's blind date is relevant to the storyline of the show and should not have been removed. This is relevant to the continuity of the show, I do not see how it isn't. This storyline has been running since season two. Please allow it to be added to the page.

Five years ago, an episode had a throwaway joke about how Ted's parents met. How they met was not a major plot thread then nor has it been one since. It has not even been a minor plot thread ever. It was just a one-off punchline. Now, five years later, an episode makes another throwaway joke with a one-off punchline about how Ted's parents met. It is not a major plot thread of this episode. In fact, there is no reason to even think that the writers of this episode were even aware of that previous throwaway joke. There is no connection between the two and thus no continuity issue. It is, at best, obscure trivia. It would be like going through the episodes and noting when they use the same extras in the bar scenes and counting that as continuity. Trivia is not continuity. 142.68.47.31 (talk) 03:25, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
