The correct orthography is

Neder-over-Heembeek
. The term "Over" is definitely NOT the English preposition, it does not mean the "Heembeek" is a river !

"Over" is the Dutch adjective that means "High" and which contrast with "Neder", Dutch for "Low".

The name of the commune comes from the unification of "Neder-Heembeek" (Low-Heembeek) and "Over-Heembeek" (High-Heembeek), two old parishes into a single village. Historically, "Heembeek" was a single village. Would you write "over-Hembeek" but still "Neder-Heembeek" ???

So, admins, please reverse the current redirection from

Neder-over-Heembeek ! Delete the wrong redirection page Neder-Over-Heembeek
, so that we can rename this article correctly.
