That isn't a very good source, it is very short and only gently suggest that the grotesque stereotypes in the film might be problematic. It does link to another more interesting article:

In which Kristal Brent Zook, author of "Black Woman's Lives: Stories of Power and Pain" eloquently puts the problems into a cultural and historical context (but ultimately undercuts the whole premise of getting offended on behalf of others by accepting maybe people "just needed a good laugh"). Not for the first time, someone seems to object to the phrase morbidly obese. This technical term seemed like the fairest most accurate way to describe the character, it would be inaccurate to describe this character as merely fat or overweight. Rasputia makes

The previous wording made unhelpful references to the race of the characters, which is irrelevant and that was why I initially thought the image description had been blanked and needed to be improved. As this film won an Oscar for Best Makeup it would be better if the article included detailed information about this and other Production information. I will try to gather some sources here:

Eddie Murphy got paid a salary of $20 million for this film and a cut of the gross. Probably ... almost certainly, but I'm not sure the source I found is enough to meet the standard of an encyclopedia, a New York Times article about Eddie Murphy's $20 million salary (Web Archive copy) which says "Mr. Murphy still asks for $20 million a picture and a cut of the gross". Norbit was made in 2007, the Times article is from 2009. So while the source doesn't directly say he got paid $20 million for Norbit it does make it clear that was his standard asking price. I tried to remove Liz Braun’s review of Norbit (under Reception) but my changes were reverted back. I argued that some of the comments she made were irrelevant to the movie and also completely inappropriate towards Thandie Newton.

"Do not delete a citation merely because the URL is not working." A web link to the review might not be readily accessible but I'd be surprised if the review was not archived deep a in a commercial library of Canadian newspapers somewhere.

Offensive is subjective ... it is especially weird and difficult to discuss what might be offensive in the context of this film. I'm not even convinced the comment was towards Newton, the critic could have been trying to imply something about Eddie Murphy and his encounter with Shalimar Seiuli, which was much more in the public mind at the time.
