   I have no idea, but expect that it doesn't all that much, since it is generally considered 
   improper to use sources to0 close to the subject in question (but obviously dependent on 
   context and need). references can be easily seen at the bottom of the page using the

Actually, there is a fair bit of updating required now. For example, the stuff about outputs that are at risk because of relocation to Newport should reflect the fact that prices (ie CPI, RPI) and some of National Accounts (GDP(O)) have relocated to Wales a long time ago. I have deleted a reference to Southport, where some Registrar General work takes place, because this is no longer part of ONS as of 1 April 2008, but there ought to be a proper line or two about this. I moved this section, not written by me, from Karen Dunnell's Biography to this article so that it could be subjected to better review. I changed some of the more extreme POV features expressed in it. I now see that someone else has rightly drawn attention to its imbalanced and un-referenced character but instead of modifying this, has deleted it. As there is already a somewhat contentious section on Criticisms of ONS in the this article, this piece is not an inappropriate addition, duly referenced and improved.

The Office for National Statistics launched a new website on Saturday 27th August (moving from statistics.gov.uk URLs to ons.gov.uk.) All links to the old website are redirected to the new homepage. I am starting to collate the old links and replace them with links to the same/similar content on the new website. If you can help with this, please do. I have updated the bulleted list to reflect the current version of the NSCL - the taxonomy used in classifying statistical outputs. I have temporarily removed the sentence - this includes numerous regular surveys, such as the General Household Survey, the Labour Force Survey and the UK National Census that takes place every 10 years. ONS also runs the England and Wales Longitudinal Survey, which monitors the health, address changes and fertility of a 1% sample of the population of England and Wales over time for statistical purposes). as this breaks up the flow of the list and is incorrect - it was placed next to Health. However, the General Household Survey is classified under People and Places and the Labour Force Survey comes under Labour Market. The writer of this article seems to have a fondness with overly long sentences with too many clarifications, Which can be a little messy and unclear and difficult to read at times. I have cleared up some of this where I've noticed it, but do not have the time to go through the entire article looking for overly long sentences.
