Clonlyne/Clonlyons
'I find from the list of authorities quoted in the name Book that the parish of Oldcastle was otherwise called Clonlyne, but the name is now forgotten in the Country.' - John O'Donovan, 30 July 1836 'Of the Parish of Oldcastle' in Ordnance Survey Letters County Meath (Dublin, 2001), p. 34. 'Clonlyons' gets a mention in the Oldcastle entry in the superb Logainm.ie website. Nature / status
At population of 800-1,383 over many years, can this really be described as any sort of "town"? Surely, whatever it might have been at some time, this is now a village? SeoR (talk) 00:14, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
