Proposed move

The proposed name is the official name of the organization. Hoever, the ongoing arbitration request on the article on Macedonia should be taken into account before deciding on this.  Andreas  (T) 22:21, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • support, absolutely. Both the organisation's name should be its self-chosen one, and also the name of the country as mentioned in the article should get the same usage as everywhere else. What the international Olympic organisations use is entirely immaterial. Fut.Perf. 09:34, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • support, totally. I agree with Fut.Perf. and would comment that IOC has lots of biased data on its web-site. They combine the medals of
FRY and in the same time do not consider FRY as the solemn successor of the SFRY. Funny. -- Imbris (talk) 18:59, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply

We'll probably need to put this on hold for now, since there's now an ARBCOM injunction that there should be no Macedonia page moves until the new Macedonia Arbcom case is concluded. Fut.Perf. 07:29, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since the centralised discussion has now concluded with a clear consensus (
WP:MOSMAC2), and there have been no objections here, I have performed the move. Fut.Perf. 17:30, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply

Macedonia request for comment

The Centralized discussion set up to decide on a comprehensive naming convention about Macedonia-related naming practices is now inviting comments on a number of competing proposals from the community. Please register your opinions on the RfC subpages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. (Page 2 deals with the conventions most directly affecting this article.)
