This article is interesting, on an important topic and very well researched. I especially like the graphic you created for the article. It looks very professional. Your lead paragraph introduces the topic well, but the guidelines suggest that it should summarize all of the topics that will be discussed in the article. The table of contents should go below the lead paragraph. You should avoid adding subjective qualifiers like "new" and "intriguing" in the introduction. Also saying, "over the last decade" isn't clear, because you don't know when someone will be reading it. You may want to organize it into sections with the science at the beginning, and the history at the end. Based on what you have included, as well as the italicized sections that you intend to include, this is becoming a very complete and informative article.
