Perhaps it makes sense to merge this with Okhta disambiguation page, since they both reference all final articles—Preceding unsigned comment added by Anatoly.bourov (talk • contribs)
- Oppose. All items on the "Okhta" page are spelled so per WP:RUS. The LOTR character on the Ohta page is not even mentioned in the article the entry links to, so it should be removed and "Ohta" itself should redirect to "Okhta".—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:43, 8 February 2008 (UTC)]
agreed
I agree, i tried to find any reference to the Ohta character with no success either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anatoly.bourov (talk • contribs) 22:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
adding info
in light of WP spelling rules, what to do with the already established transliteration of "Ohta-center"
Should it be added to "Okhta" disambiguation or "Ohta" ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anatoly.bourov (talk • contribs) 22:22, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Nothing. There are one is used as main in Wikipedia. Alternative romanizations can, of course, be mentioned in articles, but there is no good reason to research each and every little case individually.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:26, 15 February 2008 (UTC)]
Tomoko Ohta
This page shouldn't redirect to Okhta. There's a very important evolutionary biologist named Tomoko Ohta who has an article--though small--in Wikipedia. His nearly neutral theory of molecular evolution also has an article here. And also the character Ohta mentioned above. There should at least be a disambiguation page linked at the top of this article.--Jmjanzen (talk) 16:31, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- We should turn this into a separate disambiguation page "Ohta" that lists ]
Ota
I feel like there are more Otas here than Ohtas...should we move or split? Valereee (talk) 12:38, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- No, splitting is a bad idea. The page can be moved to "Ōta", though. ("Ō" means a long vowel, same as "Oh".) --Moscow Connection (talk) 12:52, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- Oops, there are some non-Japanese people. Disregard my proposal to move the page to "Ōta". "Ota" is probably a good option, though.
You'd better ask here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Japan. --Moscow Connection (talk) 12:58, 29 December 2023 (UTC) - Concur with moving to Ota as a start. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 03:42, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
