The major beer writers, such as Michael Jackson, Roger Protz, David Sutula, Charlie Papazian, Laurie Strachan and Stephen Snyder group the Belgian brown ales with other brown ales, including mild ale. I am wondering if this article should be merged with Brown ale and possibly renamed Brown ales or even Brown beers, and then detail the complex history of brown beers leading into sectioned discussion on the related beer styles such as Oud bruin/Flanders brown ale.
