Origin

I've read and JLA: Syndicate Rules. None of these mention Owlman's origin as it relates to Joe Chill, or Bruce and Martha Wayne's demise, even thought it's referenced sporadically throughout. Which comic has that information? Donmega60645 17:26, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That doesn't answer the question regarding how Joe Chill was involved. As I remember there were theories that the Pre-Crisis Owlman was Dr Thomas Wayne based on the backwards nature of Earth-3; was this ever actually stated?--BruceGrubb (talk) 06:41, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A Friendly Question

Okay, I understand my info was deleted because it wasn't the 'right' Owlman. I'm cool, but I just don't understand. Who is what is where now please? Considering Olwman appeared because of Mxyxpltk, it could be any of the versions. Again, I'm not trying to argue, just trying to figure things out.

The simplest way to tell is the costume - the pre-Crisis Owlman had a brown owl head as his cowl, and his costume was the blue and gray pattern of the Silver Age Batman (as opposed to the current black and gray), vs. the sleek, metallic (i.e., not dorky) outfit introduced in JLA: Earth 2 for the post-Crisis re-introduction of the character Starmiter 04:41, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Owlman Redirect Page

You can't access the page for this Owlman unless you go to Google and look for Owlman. There is a redirect page for Owlman, but it only references the mythological being/creature.

Owlmen (?) of Earth-3

In the section "Owlmen of Earth-3," it states that The Jokester had killed an Owlman by placing his boot on Owlman's throat. I think that this scene is simply meant to be a copy of one from the 1970s story "The Joker's Five-Way Revenge," in which The Joker knocks out Batman, put his shoe on Bats' neck, then decides not to kill him since Joker wants their "game" to have a grander finale.

In short, I don't think that Jokester ever killed any Owlmen, and that he's been facing the same Owlman all along. Can anyone confirm or dispute this?

Convoluted History

Okay...so the first Owlman was Dick Grayson (Apr 1957), after temporarily becoming an adult and donning a masquerade costume of Bruce's. The "true" Owlman was a guy from a crazy parallel universe (Aug 1964) where Abe Lincoln killed John Wilkes Booth and Britan was a former American colony. It's sort of like Batgirl or Supergirl--there was an "impostor" who was chronologically first, but then almost forgotten due to retcons, while the "true" one rose to prominence. The history is quite convoluted. Basically, I figure someone at DC liked the idea of this one-shot "hero" and made an editorial decision to make him a real character--except he hails from Dimension X, and he's a bad guy. So Batman has two evil twins running about--this guy, and Wrath. Am I correct? --The_Iconoclast (talk) 15:11, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, sorry, but you are not.
Owlman is from Earth Three where almost everything is upside down, the good guys from Earth One and Earth Two are bad in Earth Three and viseversa.
Wrath is from Earth One and is a villain like others...
None of them are a twin of Batman(Bruce Wayne), but, what is your point? what is your porpousal?

Older or younger brother?

What's the source for Thomas Wayne Jr. being the older brother. According to the DC Encyclopedia, he was Bruce's younger brother, and as far as I can tell Earth 2 doesn't specify who was the eldest.--142.177.120.102 (talk) 08:02, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
