What a great story - not one I'd read about before. Not sure about the phrase "tapped for" a race - would this mean anything to people who aren't familiar with US horse racing? It isn't one I have seen before. --Bcp67 (talk) 19:36, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

General USA slang for "to be selected", (sometimes kids' teams are chosen by the captain tapping a selected player on the shoulder, at least that's one source for the phrase) but I'll look at that, thanks for pointing that out. Montanabw(talk) 22:58, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
