The truncated description of the hays code gives a false impression of its authority
"the Hays Code, which restricted depictions of content the U.S. Motion Picture Production Code deemed explicit."
The implies that the code was part of the US legal system. Who was required because the several major motion picture production companies agreed to abide by it. There's no contextual information that clarifies our elaborate on the sensor codes. It reinforces the idea that the Hays Code/ MPPDA and later the MPAA we're statutory instruments of the United States government. unfortunately, I see these kinds of omissions reflected in various historical accounts of governmental authority which I believe helps maintain a preferred ideology which has led to degradation of the society and its government.
