My general feeling - and one I've expressed at other high school alumni lists - is that a proposed notable alum must be considered notable enough to sustain their own bluelinked article on Wikipedia, which, one hopes, would document attendance at the school in question. Mr. Reda seems semi-notable, but there's a lack of non-public relations material to back it up in third-party media. Mr. Korp/Kerr apparently no longer works for WAEB - he works for the Diocese of Allentown, and I can find no notability associated with his job as communications director for the diocese. The standard is not really WP:N, but according to WP:V there does have to be some documentation of the verifiability of all content. To say someone is a notable alumnus, there has to be some reason to think the person notable. Normally, this is done by an article about the person, but it is also OK to have it red linked if the position is so clearly notable that the article can and should be written. At the least, there has to be some reference to notability of some reasonable degree, though whether it must attain to the notability of a WP article is certainly debatable. (for example, college athletes not really notable by our current standards are usually instead mentioned in a paragraph in the article to avoid this problem). In the present cases, there is some possibility of this for the people mentioned, but asking for a source is always correct. (& there also does have to be some sort of evidence the person attended the school--for a bio article, this is usually satisfied by the persons cv or the equivalent , which is acceptable for such details as a specifically provided-for exception to the usual rule on self-published sources) Frankly, these sections are so liable to spam that I myself am fairly restrictive here when I edit such articles.

Reda seems notable, as does his company. There should certainly be an article at least on his company, and the solution is to write a brief stub. Given such an article, and that he is CEO, this would in my opinion be sufficient for the person. As for Korp, I agree with Acroterion that the notability is dubious--one should try to see if an article sticks first. I doubt it will. DGG (talk) 19:42, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
